Vegetation, Volume & Veranda.
The long, linear nature of the house is a direct response to the narrowness of this north facing site. The client wanted a simple 3 bedroom home and a large field for children (and adults alike) to enjoy sports. This meant the living space could be an oasis in a sea of green, while the bedrooms were completely private. Buried beneath the ground, with a north facing courtyard for light, the bedrooms are out of sight, nestled with the breezeblock screen wall on the south. A full length timber and polycarbonate roof allows natural light from the south to illuminate the house all day.
